HOSTS Helping One Student To Succeed

One Student. One Scholarship. One Semester. One Success Story.

This is the philosophy behind HOSTS, a scholarship program for Ohlone College students that provides recipients with $750 to cover the cost of tuition, books and related fees for one semester of classes.

Created in 2009 by The Ohlone College Foundation, HOSTS has already helped more than 200 students with their educational dreams. With tuition costs for community college classes doubling in the past two years, access to an education can be difficult. HOSTS donors provide assistance for one student for one semester. It's a scholarship program with many success stories!

HOSTS is designed for both incoming freshman (graduating high school seniors) as well as students continuing their education at Ohlone. The on-line application process for HOSTS opens March 1 and closes April 15. Selected students are notified in mid-May. Funds are then available for student use in the Fall semester.

"Now that I have the ability to attend college, I have the opportunity to become someone whose knowledge is helpful and can make a difference."
- Marcus Tondre

"A scholarship would help me make the most of the wonderful opportunity that is extended to every college student, the opportunity to spend a few years just learning."
- Leah Dorman

"This scholarship will provide the financial support needed to continue my education. The reality of education is that it is expensive, and it is the small donations which make a big difference."
